Sarah Sullivan writes picture books, poetry and middle grade fiction.  She holds an MFA in Writing for Children from Vermont College where she was awarded the 2005 Harcourt Post-Graduate Scholarship.  In 2001 she won a West Virginia Commission on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship/Grant for a middle grade novel.  
 
Sarah's poetry has been published in Cricket and Chickadee magazines.  Her first two picture books were published by Candlewick in 2005.  A third picture book, Passing the Music Down, will be published by Candlewick in 2010. 
 
A former lawyer, Sarah now does school visits and conducts writing workshops and in-service training for teachers.
